Condo & HOA EV charger FAQ
Common questions before installing an EV charger in a Miami condo or HOA community
Can my HOA deny my EV charger installation?
No. Florida Statutes 718.113 and 83.682 protect your right to install an EV charger in your designated parking space. The HOA may set reasonable installation standards but cannot prohibit it. If your HOA says no, contact us — we have the legal documentation to resolve this.
How much does condo EV charger installation cost in Miami?
Cost varies significantly based on the distance from the electrical room to your parking space, existing building infrastructure, and charger type. We do not give standard pricing for condos — we do a free building assessment first. Most condo installations cost $900–$2,500.
How long does the full condo process take?
Longer than a standard install: building assessment (1-2 days), HOA documentation prep (2-3 days), HOA approval process (variable — days to weeks depending on the board), permit (3-5 days), installation (1 day). We manage everything and keep you informed throughout.
Who pays for the circuit from the electrical room to my space?
The unit owner bears the full cost of installation from the electrical room to their space. This is established in FL Statute 718.113. Some buildings have pre-installed conduit that can reduce costs.
Can you install in a building with underground parking?
Yes — we handle this regularly in Miami. Cost may be higher due to the electrical run distance, but it is fully feasible. We assess at the free site visit.
